Gas burners and sparking igniters
A single burner that will not light is usually a clogged burner port or a dirty spark electrode — food and cleaning liquid get into places that will not dry. If every burner clicks but none light, the spark module or the supply is the more likely cause. If the burners keep clicking after they have lit, moisture is bridging an electrode or a switch is sticking closed, and letting it continue slowly cooks the spark module.
On sealed gas burners we also look for burner caps that were reassembled wrong after cleaning, which is a surprisingly frequent cause of yellow, sooty, or uneven flames. A correct blue flame with clean burner ports is what we are aiming for every time.
Electric, radiant, and induction
On coil ranges the receptacle and terminal block burn far more often than the element itself. On radiant glass-tops, the failure is usually the element or the infinite switch that controls it, and a burner stuck permanently on full heat is a shorted infinite switch — that one needs attention promptly rather than eventually.
Induction is its own discipline. These are power boards, pan-detection circuits, and cooling fans, and induction hobs post fault codes when they overheat or lose communication. A code F or U reading is a starting point, not a diagnosis. We service Bosch, Thermador, GE Profile, Samsung, LG, and Frigidaire induction units.
Freestanding, slide-in, and professional ranges
We work on freestanding and slide-in ranges, drop-in and built-in cooktops, and professional dual-fuel ranges from Wolf, Viking, Thermador, BlueStar, Bertazzoni, ZLINE, and Forno. Downdraft cooktops and their blower assemblies are also familiar territory.
Cracked ceramic glass is the one repair where we usually recommend against proceeding — on most models the glass top costs enough that a new appliance is the better buy, and we will show you the numbers rather than quietly quoting the part.
