Running but not heating
On an electric dryer this is a heating element, a thermal fuse, a cycling thermostat, or a high-limit thermostat — and one blown leg of the 240-volt supply will produce exactly the same symptom, which is why we test the outlet before condemning parts. A thermal fuse almost never fails on its own; it blows because the machine overheated, and it overheats because the vent is blocked.
On a gas dryer the usual suspects are the igniter, the flame sensor, and the gas valve coils. A classic pattern is a dryer that heats for a minute, quits, then heats again later: the coils are weak and dropping out when hot. We test them properly instead of replacing the whole valve assembly.
Noise, tumbling, and long dry times
A rhythmic thumping or a rising squeal normally means drum rollers, an idler pulley, or the rear drum bearing. A dryer whose motor hums but whose drum stands still has usually snapped its belt. These are mechanical repairs with a predictable outcome — once it is fixed, it is fixed.
Long dry times are different. If the heat is good and the clothes still come out damp, the machine is making heat it cannot move. A crushed foil transition hose behind the dryer, a lint-packed vent run, a bird nest in the roof cap, or a blower wheel loose on its shaft all reduce airflow. That is also a genuine fire risk, not just an inconvenience.
The vent is part of the repair
We measure airflow rather than assume it. If your vent run is the actual problem, we say so — and cleaning the vent properly will do more for your dryer than any part we could sell you. Our owner also runs a dryer vent cleaning business, so this is not a side note for us.
We service electric and gas dryers, stacked laundry centers, and compact ventless and heat-pump models, including Whirlpool, Maytag, LG, Samsung, GE, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Bosch, and Speed Queen.
